Jeffin Antony, Child with Moderate autism with its stereotypical behaviors, had no communication skills when his parents brought him to CSE at the age of 5 years. We took the challenge of implementing sign language and Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) in Jeffin’s curriculum at his very young age. Intensive behavior therapy and parent counseling helped him to move to academic group within a short period of time, where he was given individual attention in all his activities. CSE class room brought his talents out and we successfully integrated him in the main school.Jeffin is in 4th grade now and he is making us proud with each academic year.

William Tomy, a child with Mild Mental Retardation and severe learning problems, was rejected from grade 1 class room of mainstream because of his inadequate adaptive skills. He joined in CSE at the age of 8 years. He had low self esteem, insecurity, limited social skills and poor academic skills when he joined. The unique class room system of CSE(handful students in each class) could contribute adequate individual attention in William's programmes and he regained his confidence within years.Consistent psychological counseling and intensive training in academics helped in integrating William in 4th grade.

Lyndon Pinto, diagnosed with Down syndrome came to us when he was 6 year old. Lyndon is a child who wins our hearts by his social skills at very first meeting. He had struggled in the beginning due to lack of clarity in speech. As a trial, with proper training in academics and communication, he attended partial integration sessions in main school for co curricular activities for a period of one year.CSE could send him to 2nd grade in the very next year as full time integration when he was at 9 years and he proved that age doesn’t matter but skills.

Dhriti Tara Chand , diagnosed with cerebral Palsy joined in Primary class at the age of 7 years. She had difficulties in mobility and communication. Her enthusiasm and urge for learning motivated her parents as well as CSE. Proper intervention and therapeutic services made her independent in communication and daily living skills within a short period of time. Intensive training in academics with one-to-one sessions helped her to get admission in main school within one year.As of now she is doing well at grade 1 in Indian School Muscat.
